Denver Cat Company Café Now Open

Denver Cat Company Café Now Open

Denver’s first ever “cat café” is now open.

According to the Denver Post, the Denver Cat Company opened its storefront a little later than expected, but owner Sana Hamelin said people were waiting to get in on opening day.

The unique café has wireless Internet, and sells drip coffee and some pre-packaged foods, and books. Here’s how the shop describes itself:

“We are a community space, one where cat, art and book-lovers can come together over a cuppa, buy or exchange books, appreciate art, take painting classes, hold meetings and events, indulge in mild consumerism by admiring and perhaps purchasing our unique merchandise, meditate amongst nature’s premier zen-masters (cats), and find new friends.”

The small gaggle of roaming cats aren’t just for ambiance. They’re also looking for homes. If anyone likes one of the shop cats, they can put in for an adoption through Rocky Mountain Feline Rescue.

The Denver Cat Company is located at 3929 Tennyson St. To learn more about the café, go to denvercatco.com.
