Scottsdale Prepares for Increased Housing and Entertainment
As the number of stores and nightlife venues opening their doors in downtown Scottsdale grows, so will new home construction. The entertainment district is expected to add two major housing projects by 2015, reflecting the increased housing demand. Evidence of new construction in the entertainment district can already be seen by the Maya Day + Nightclub, Derby Public house, American Junkie and Boondocks Patio & Grill.
Located east of Scottsdale Road and south of Camelback Road, the new residential developments reveal the growth for this part of the community. “What we’ve done is increased the capacity in some of the water and sewer lines in the area, widening sidewalks and making sure there’s enough parking for people who either live there or shop there,” said Steve Venker, the city’s planning and design services manager, in a recent article from AZCentral.com.
As new urban housing progresses, expectations rise that a wide variety of lifestyles will enjoy the area. Scottsdale supplies entertainment for all age groups. Currently, the Stetson East and West districts are undergoing some major changes. “Just the dynamics of the downtown Scottsdale area, we feel it’s a fantastic environment to bring a community,” said Ian Swirgol, Alliance’s managing director, in the recent article. “A lot of the successful (ventures) that Triyar has accomplished there lend themselves to residential as well.”
Scottsdale is an exciting place to live in Arizona and with the influx of new housing, it shows. Additionally, there are several new stores that have popped up in the community that are demonstrating success. More positive changes are to come for Scottsdale.
