Warrior Wrestlers Battle it out for the Championship Title
Rivals, the Bruins and Warriors battle it out at the Warrior Invitational Tournament. Both Cherry Creek and Arapahoe schools were on a mission to gain the most points at this wrestling meet, in order to earn the title. This is their 37th team title in the tournament’s outstanding history at the Arapahoe High School, in Centennial.
According to the Centennial Citizen News, the Bruins coach was determined to take the win at this specific meet, “We have a lot of kids coming back plus some of last year’s JV wrestlers who are stepping up for us,” he said during a break in last Saturday’s action. “We are good up and down the weight divisions. This is a good early tournament because we get a lot of mat time and get to see a lot of good opponents.”
It was a tough ending for both teams with points that were very close to taking the prestigious title. Arapahoe was leading the standing with 103.5 points, but when it came down to the final scores, the Bruins took first place. Although it was a hard loss for the Centennial Warriors they still had a dozen wrestlers place.
