Fun Halloween Actives Happening Around Centennial

Halloween is coming up wickedly fast and Centennial knows how to celebrate! Whether you’re a sports enthusiast or looking for a fun family event there is something for everyone.

  •  This Friday, October 19th the Goodson Recreation Center will be hosting a “Spooktacular” event which will be providing a safe trick or treat experience for kids up to 11 years old!  The kids will have a blast with the wide range of activities- Little Monster’s Mansion, Haunted House, Cookie Walk, Arts & Crafts, Face Painting, Spooktoddler, Trick or Treat Street, and Carnival Games!
    Spooktacular will be this Friday, October 19th 5:30pm-8:00pm at the Goodson Recreation Center. This is a family event. Children must be accompanied by an adult age 18 or over. Pre-paid tickets are $4 until 7 pm Wednesday, Oct 17. Tickets will be available at the door for $6.


  • The Hoofin’ It Through the Hollows 5K Run/Walk is right around the creepy corner on Saturday, October 27th! Runners of all ages and abilities are welcome at this Halloween celebration! Bring the entire family, friendly dogs on leashes and strollers are welcome.  Make sure to put on your best/ most creative costume too because there will also be a costume contest at 5:30pm prior to the race!  They haven’t forgotten the smallest goblins, princesses and superheroes – free kids fun run sprint will be held at approximately 5:25pm.  Check-in begins at 4:00pm at Shelter C in de Koevend Park (cross the bridge by the south side of the Goodson Recreation Center). Prizes will be awarded in age and gender categories for the 5K.  Race time is 5:45pm and will held along the popular High Line Canal trail which is on concrete and crusher fine surfaces.  Race will be timed using timing chip technology.
    Pre-registration fee -$20
    Day of race fee- $25
    The fee includes:
    Race t-shirt and goodies.
    Register by Friday, October 19 to guarantee t-shirt size.
    Online registration closes at Noon on Friday, October 26.
    Children 6 and under are free and will receive free chip timing but does not include race shirt. Email to register your free 6 and under runner.  For more information about this event click here


  • If running isn’t your kind of sport head over to the Family Sports Center for the Monster Mash, Halloween Bash which will also be on Saturday, Oct 27 from 6-9 pm. Come enjoy a spooky laser tag challenge, eXerGame Zone, inflatable bumper cars and the climbing wall. And from 8-9 enjoy a Halloween skate and costume contest.  Only $8- District, $10- Non-District. (No masks due to safety concerns.)
