Tai Chi Kids is a Fun and Focused Class for Local Castle Rock Families
Tai Chi is not only for the young at heart anymore, it’s for the kids too! Castle Rock families have recently been bringing their kids to classes to release energy and overall increase their health. The library’s weekly Tai Chi Kids is called a “Fun and Focus class”.
Instructor Deidre VanRy has practiced for 16 years, she said that it increases balance. In addition, mental and physical flexibility are challenged for healthy growth. One technique that seems to energize you when getting out of bed is a “belly laugh”; making almost a fake laughing sound over and over again while stretching.
The program is designed for ages 8 to 13, and is available at the Castle Rock local library. You are never too young to learn traditional practices that have been around since the 12th century! It is also a great alternative for ADD and ADHD – it really calms the built-up energy. Check this out for your energetic child!
