Sept. Brings Fun, Colorful Runs to Castle Rock
Two runs are coming to Castle Rock this September, and they should be a good time. Both the Area 13.1 Half Marathon, on Sept. 6, and the Castle Pines Run Wild 5k, held on Sept. 14, bring fun to exercising.
Starting at 6 p.m., the Area Marathon is a night race at the Douglas County Fairgrounds. Runners should wear bright, neon running clothes, along with glow-in-the-dark accessories to make the experience even more exciting. During the 13.1-miles race there will be entertainment on the way.
“There won’t be any aliens chasing you,” said race organizer Lauren Jones, in the Castle Rock News-Press article. “The booths are meant to entertain the runners on their way. Some people hand out water or glow sticks. Others dress up. It’s supposed to be fun, not scary.”
