Castle Rock’s ‘Little Free Library’ in Metzler Park Community

Students from Castle Rock’s Renaissance Expeditionary Magnet School want to spread knowledge and imagination with their new ‘Little Free Library’! This free-standing is a wood box shaped like a house that has a window to look inside. You can take a book with you to enjoy, and you could leave one for someone else to continue the rotation.

You can find this little library right on the sidewalk in Metzler Ranch Community Park. These young students are going to put a smile on someone’s face by leaving a stack of books there for the public. These small libraries throughout the community run solely on the honor system – no library cards or due dates!

The students are committed to monitoring, restocking, and changing the books when needed with hopes that others are doing the same. Ranging from fiction to non-fiction, children to adult reading, there is a book in there waiting for you! In the near future, plan on seeing collection bins around Castle Rock to help keep these ‘Little Free Libraries’ going.

Other cities have already been doing this for years. For more information, visit littlefreelibrary.org.
