YMCA Field Trips Teach Young Students How to Stay Healthy and Active

In order to promote healthy living, the Hendricks Regional Health YMCA wants students from Avon to participate in field trips. They plan on working with the local schools to highlight activities and nutrition at the nearby facility. It is important for the kids to know that they have these options to stay active, even when it is cold outside.

Setting up various stations around the building helps show the students how easy it can be to get your daily exercise. The Hendricks Regional Health Hospital is also doing nutrition training with the Y, so they can learn about how your diet can determine your future! Showing off their newest exercise machine, the AlterG is a treadmill the uses NASA-based anti-gravity technology that takes away up to 80 percent of a person’s body weight.

The goal for the YMCA is to keep the Avon students educated about nutrition and exercise. They will continue to do these field trips with middle schoolers to ensure they know they have to stay active and ways they can do it out in the community! The HRH YMCA is at 301 Satori Parkway, Avon.
