Sunscreen 4 Soldiers Delivers Protection to Company 1413
Sunscreen 4 Soldiers is a new program that takes donations, either monetary or actual sunscreen products, and ships them overseas. Rarely, do we think about the soldiers in Afghanistan needing to protect their skin and lips from the harsh sun, but it is a growing concern. Luckily, a local Mary Kay director decided that she wanted to give back to these people serving the country.
According to the Flyer Group Newspaper, the organization’s mission is to protect them while they protect us; to make sure their skin is protected while they are serving us. Organizers say soldiers receive toiletries such as toothpaste, but don’t receive the sun protection they need.
The non-profit is sending care packages throughout the summer to ensure the soldiers are getting the necessities during the hottest months of the year. Working together with Soldier’s Angels, Sunscreen 4 Soldiers is buying lip balm and sunscreen by the bulk from Mary Kay Cosmetics then sends it per request.
Company 1413 is the first group that will receive the shipments. According to the article, a shipment of 140 suncare sets has already been collected for 1413. The remaining product donations will go to Soldier’s Angels for distribution and will be determined by current needs.
Be apart of something great by making a donation today at www.operationssunscreen.com. Their goal is to sponsor 949 soldiers, in Afghanistan.
