Locals Get Pulled Over for Being Good Drivers

Have you ever been pulled over by a police officer for good driving? In Avon, Police Chief Bill Wright and Patrolman Jerry Cunningham are doing a nice deed for the locals. It’s the holiday season and they felt compelled to pull people over that were obeying traffic rules.

It might have been a little shocking to see flashing red and blue lights in the mirror, but locals were rewarded with gift certificates to encourage their continuing good road behavior. Asking around town, Wright had no problem find businesses’ to donate in rewarding drivers.

According to the Police Chief, he felt that there needed to be a more positive feeling this holiday season, “There’s a lot of emphasis on driving under the influence and distracted driving,” he said. “I thought, ‘let’s do something for good drivers.’ I wanted to do something that will get people’s attention, for them to remember it.” Instead of getting a ticket this year in the Avon area, you might just get rewarded next time you get pulled over. Drive safe and have a Happy Holidays!
