Avon’s 12th Annual Native and Garden Plant Sale Coming

April showers bring May flowers! Especially, with Avon‘s upcoming 12th annual Native and Garden Plant Sale & Spring Event. The Avon Outdoor Learning Center (OLC) is hosting this family fun activity on May 16 and 17. Worth the experience, you will get some plant growing advice, live music, and snacks for everyone.

The Hendricks County Master Gardeners are happy to be involved this year to customize your planting projects. In addition, the Bluebird Society and local beekeepers are there to offer interesting information to help with the necessary resources for future gardening. Children are welcome to participate in activities that are provided by local scout and student groups, too!

Benefiting Avon schools, and other local communities, the OLC is a seven-acre outdoor classroom that is behind the Maple Elementary School. Plants are $3; there are more than 25 different native Indiana species of wildflowers from Yellow Coneflowers to Royal Catchflies, there should be plenty of choices! For more information, contact Jennifer Davies at by calling 544-6400 ext. 6482 or by e-mailing to olc@avon-schools.org.
