Two Ahwatukee Community Events Raise Grant Funds for Local Charities
Two local charities have each received $3,000 grants after funds were raised during two popular Ahwatukee community events.
According to the Ahwatukee Foothills News, the Girls Rule Foundation and the YMCA’s Outreach Program for Ahwatukee Seniors each received $3,000. The funds were raised during the Festival of Lights Kick-Off Party and the Wine & Beer Tasting Festival events last year.
The Festival of Lights was founded in 1993 as a nonprofit to raise money to fund the annual lighting of the million white lights along Chandler Boulevard during the holiday season, and the Wine & Beer Festival and the Kick-Off Party are its two primary fundraisers during the year, the article said.
