Team Made of Ahwatukee Students Wins YMCA High School Basketball Title

A youth basketball team made of Ahwatukee students recently won a YMCA title.
According to the Ahwatukee Foothills News, the Heavy Hitters, a high school youth basketball team made of students from Ahwatukee’s Desert Vista High School, won the Division II title in the YMCA competitive basketball league.
“It was an amazing season and the boys came together as a team and ultimately achieved the goal that they set at the beginning of the season,” Coach Jerry Ervin told the newspaper. “We will look to do it all over again next year.”
