Red, White and Boom! Celebrate the 4th Ahwatukee-Style

July 4th brings out the best that Ahwatukee has to offer at the Red, White and Boom event each summer. This year is going to be even bigger and better than last, with more games and live entertainment. Residents join together to celebrate our country’s freedom at the Ahwatukee Country Club, 12432 S. 48th St.

Held on Thursday, July 3, from 5 to 10 p.m., there are activities for kids, food and drinks for the entire family. Watch as sky divers kick off the fireworks show by jumping out of a plane and landing right in the middle of it all. The fireworks show begins at 9 p.m..

In addition to other fun events, 53 vendors will be there to sell food, refreshing beverages, as well as unique handmade items. Kids are going to have a great time as they enjoy the inflatable water slides, carnival games and, new this year, a zip line.

The Red, White and Boom event brings together residents and their families to prove that this is more than just an average city, it’s a community of friends. “It’s a family event,” said Kendra Fleetwood in the Ahwatukee Foothills news article, co-chair of the chamber’s Red, White and Boom committee. “Over the years, it’s been improved by what people like and it runs really smooth … It’s extraordinary fireworks.”

Live music provided by the local’s favorite country band Daisy Train are going to put on a performance to remember. Thanks to donations from the community and local businesses, this event is free to the public.

“It still has this small-town feel to it a little bit and it just evokes such powerful images of my hometown I grew up in and the neighborhood fireworks we use to have,” said Darin Fisher in the recent article, Vision Community Management, the main sponsor of the event. “It’s getting bigger and bigger every year.”

Residents can purchase tickets for the Boom! Room if they are feeling the heat. The space is used as a misted area with complementary food, beer and a beverage bar with private restrooms. It might be worth the extra $25 to enjoy this VIP treatment. Go online at for more information or to purchase tickets.
