Ahwatukee’s Annual Chili Cook-Off is March 11-13
Chili lovers will rejoice this weekend as the 12th annual Ahwatukee Chili Cook-Off returns March 11-13, 2016 at Ahwatukee Park, 4700 E. Warner Rd.
According to the Ahwatukee Foothills News, the cook-off, which is being hosted by the Ahwatukee Swim and Tennis Center, is a regional championship event sanctioned by the International Chili Society. The winner of the competition will move on to the World Championship event.
In addition to lots of chili, the event will feature a carnival with games and rides, craft vendors and other food items. Tasting kits will be available for $5, which includes seven cups for tastings, and participants will be able to vote on their favorites.
The carnival is open from 5-9 p.m. on Friday, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday, the newspaper said. The chili competition will take place on Saturday and Sunday from noon to 3 p.m. and 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., respectively.
