Ahwatukee Woman Helping Empower Teens as Part of Foundation Work
An Ahwatukee woman’s program aimed at helping teenage girls reach their dreams is getting recognition, and a boost.
According to the Ahwatukee Foothills News, Dena Patton, an Ahwatukee resident who is CEO and co-founder of The Girls Rule Foundation, is helping teen girls in middle and high schools build leadership, self-confidence with a program called DreamLAB.
The program is a 12-week program that features topics like teamwork, communication, goal-setting and having a vision/dream.
The program is receiving recognition, according to the report, and has been designated by the Ahwatukee Festival of Lights Committee to receive a portion of the proceeds from last weekend’s kick-off party.
