Ahwatukee Music Found New Home in Pecos Community Center

Instructors from Ahwatukee Community Music have a new home at the Pecos Community Center. Classes begin in September, allowing students to try a guitar, ukulele, keyboarding, percussion, brass instruments, woodwind instruments, as well as group voice lessons.

The Ahwatukee Community Chorus will also be teaching out of the local community center.

“We’re full of ideas for classes,” said Dawn Corse, who teaches adult voice lessons and leads the chorus, in the Ahwatukee Foothills news article. “We’re really happy to have this cooperative bond with the Pecos Community Center. I think it will be mutually beneficial for us and them as well as the whole community. That’s the whole idea is to bring more community music to Ahwatukee.”

Classes are open to the public and no tryouts are necessary. If interested, go to the city’s website at www.phoenix.gov/parks or stop into the Pecos Community Center located at 17010 S. 48th Street.
