Ahwatukee Family Keeping Community Cool With ‘Kona Ice’ Truck
An Ahwatukee family recently started a new business, which also helps the community in a variety of ways.
According to the the Ahwatukee Foothills News, Kirk and Michelle Davis recently launched a Kona Ice truck in June, and have been keeping the community cool with frozen treats ever since.
The Davises got interested in Kona Ice while their son Rashaan was working at a Minnesota zoo, according to the report. It was one of the things he indulged in every day while working.
The Kona company’s philanthropic commitment to the communities it serves was equally appealing, according to the report. And the Davis family is continuing the mobile franchise’s tradition of donating thousands of dollars each year to local school groups, teams and community organizations. The family has had meetings with Kyrene School District officials, which serves Ahwatukee students, about ways they can give back.
