Ahwatukee Dad Starts Halloween Costume Donation Program

Ahwatukee father Brandon Juwig recently started a costume donation program to benefit kids who are unable to afford new costumes.

According to the Ahwatukee Foothills News, Juwig was moved to create the program after he discovered that a friend of his son was unable to afford a costume.

“As a dad I don’t know how to sew or make costumes and store-bought costumes can be really expensive,” Juwig told the newspaper. “For some families the cost of that costume is not manageable, and I think it is important that that fact does not affect the kids ability to enjoy Halloween.”

Juwig took to social media to reach out to friends and family members for donations. He then reached out to local businesses and the program took off—so far he’s collected nearly 500 costumes.
